The digital product market is bigger than ever, but most creators chase the same saturated niches. Here are 7 underserved markets with strong demand and low competition right now.
The Problem With "Popular" Niches
"Productivity templates." "Meal planning guides." "Social media content calendars."
These niches work — but the competition is intense and margins are compressed. The digital product creators winning in 2026 are the ones going one level deeper: not "productivity templates" but "Notion CRM for independent insurance agents."
The riches are in the niches. Here are seven areas where I'm seeing strong demand with low supply right now.

Niche 1: Profession-Specific Notion Templates
Generic Notion templates are everywhere. Profession-specific templates are not.
Think: therapist client management systems, real estate showing trackers, photographer booking workflows, veterinary practice templates, or bookkeeper month-end checklists. These buyers are willing to pay $25–$49 because the template is built exactly for their workflow — they don't have to adapt it.
Why it works: Professionals search for their exact tools. "Notion template for therapists" has far less competition than "Notion productivity template" but 10× the buying intent.
Niche 2: AI Prompt Libraries
The AI tools market grew dramatically in 2024–2025 and the demand for curated, tested prompt collections is still outpacing supply. People pay to skip the hours of trial-and-error experimentation.
High-value categories:
- Role-specific packs: "100 ChatGPT prompts for marketing managers"
- Tool-specific guides: "The complete Midjourney prompt guide for product photography"
- Workflow bundles: "AI prompts for running a solo consulting practice"
Price range: $9–$39 for prompt packs, $49–$99 for comprehensive guides with workflows.
Niche 3: Neurodivergent Planning Systems
The ADHD and autism community is large, underserved, and extremely vocal about sharing resources they love. Planning tools designed for neurodivergent brains — with time blindness accommodations, visual task queues, and reduced cognitive load — command premium prices.
Search volume for "ADHD planner", "ADHD Notion template", and "ADHD digital planner" has grown significantly over the past two years. Products in this niche spread virally through Discord servers and Reddit communities.
Products that work: Weekly ADHD planners, "dopamine menu" boards, task paralysis breakers, body doubling timers, sensory overload trackers.
Niche 4: Personal Finance for Life Events
Generic budgeting spreadsheets are saturated. Templates designed for specific life transitions? Almost no competition.
Examples with high urgency and buying intent:
- Divorce financial recovery planner — high emotional urgency, buyers pay $25–$49 readily
- New homeowner expense tracker — first 12 months: inspections, repairs, insurance, taxes
- New parent budget — from pregnancy costs through year-one expenses
- Solo business financial model — simple P&L, quarterly tax estimates, invoice tracker
These buyers are actively searching for solutions to a stressful, specific situation. They buy quickly and review enthusiastically.
Niche 5: Homesteading and Self-Sufficiency
The homesteading movement that grew during 2020–2022 has matured into a stable, passionate niche with strong Etsy and Pinterest presence. People who grow food, raise animals, or pursue off-grid lifestyles need practical, beautiful reference guides.
Underserved products in this space:
- Seasonal planting calendars (zone-specific)
- Canning and food preservation logs
- Small flock management spreadsheets (chickens, ducks, goats)
- Foraging identification checklists by region
- Seed saving records and germination databases
This audience shops heavily on Etsy and has passionate repeat-buyer behavior.
Niche 6: Second-Income Playbooks for Specific Professions
"How to make money online" is saturated. "How a registered nurse can build a $2,000/month side income leveraging their existing skills" is not.
Profession-specific side income guides work because they carry built-in credibility — buyers trust advice that comes from someone who understands their field, their constraints, and their specific monetizable skills.
Strong angles for: nurses (medical consulting, health content creation), teachers (tutoring platforms, curriculum licensing), accountants (bookkeeping side clients, tax prep season), graphic designers (template shops, digital assets), and skilled tradespeople (training videos, specification guides).
Niche 7: Language Learning for Specific Pairings
"Learn Spanish" is owned by apps with nine-figure marketing budgets. "Japanese for Korean speakers" or "Portuguese for English speakers relocating to Brazil" — that's a completely different story.
Niche language learning products with strong demand:
- Grammar comparison cheat sheets (for speakers of language X learning language Y)
- Vocabulary lists for specific professions (medical Spanish, legal French, technical German)
- Conversation practice scripts for specific scenarios (travel, job interviews, medical appointments)
- Character writing practice workbooks for Japanese and Chinese
The language learning market is enormous and the community spaces for each language pair are hungry for quality, specialized resources.
How to Validate a Niche Before You Build
Before investing time in any new niche, validate demand in 30 minutes:
- Etsy search: Type your product idea and check listing count + sales badges on top results
- Gumroad search: Look for existing products and note their visible sales indicators
- Pinterest: Search the niche topic and observe search volume via autocomplete suggestions
- Reddit: Find the relevant subreddit and search for "does anyone have a template for..."
If you find products with 50–500 sales and fewer than 20 strong competitive listings, you've identified a viable gap. That's your starting point.
The goal isn't to find a niche with zero competition — that usually means zero demand. Find where demand exists and competition hasn't fully caught up yet.
